College Commitments
« on: June 13, 2019, 02:22:48 PM »
With college hockey being the end game for so many families I thought I'd add my two cents to the conversation and share a link that I've enjoyed over the years. It's a very simple list of the players who have committed to various Division 1 schools. It appears to be updated daily. You can see where the player is playing now, which school has selected him and when he is scheduled to begin play..

Here's another site that lists the Division 1 schools and their rosters. I find it interesting because you can see trends in recruiting. For example, Alaska Anchorage has a very significant number of BCHL players most likely due to geography. Study the rosters long enough and you'll see trends.

What I'd like to see from collegecommitments.com is a list of players who committed to these colleges and didn't make it.
How many times have you seen a player commit to a college and everyone makes a big deal out of it! Everyone thinks it's a sure thing this player is guaranteed a college scholarship and roster spot on a D1 hockey team. It's BS. You still have to make the team and have the grades to get into the college. Look at some of these colleges like Arizona State University. They have 8 or more players committed for the 2019-2020 season.
